The Rieger Reed Drying Board (for 6 Bassoon Reeds) has a base made from sandblasted and coated aluminium. The mandrels are made from a high quality nickel-silver.

Spare the knife

Using a flat metal plaque can blunt your knife and also cause the reed to break because it is too flat. The convex ebony plaque solves both problems.

Have tried it a couple of times. Appears to do exactly what it claims - is very comfortable, easy to assemble and takes some of the strain off my thumb, hand and wrist, without getting in the way.
